Walking Tour: City of Corsets
In the late 19th and early 20 centuries, women wore corsets. They all wore them, every day, at their homes and jobs, in winter and summer, on a bicycle or pushing a stroller. The corset was 100% required wearing. Thousands of them were made in Worcester and many were shipped internationally, to every continent except Antarctica. They came from big factories and small one-person shops. Half of these 125+ corset businesses were downtown. Want to visit a few of those spots and learn about this vibrant local industry?
Sit back in your comfy chair and “walk” the route from your living room. Or put that phone in your pocket and head downtown to see them in person, for free !
